working with JMR

Whenever you work with a new company, there are questions that come up about how you do business and what your procedures are. Here is what you can expect with JMR.

Your JMR marketing director

You will work with a JMR marketing director who is responsible for managing your projects. She is likely to do most of the work herself, although she will partner with other marketing experts to handle certain aspects of the projects. Regardless of who does what, she is responsible for ensuring that the work is completed successfully.

We will recommend a marketing director based on the type of work you want done and the type of product or service you sell. If you would rather work with someone else, we'll arrange that.

Your first project

We recommend that your first project with us be a fairly small, tightly defined project. The deliverable should be something that will be useful to you even if you decide not to continue working with us. Your marketing director can work with you to define a good initial project. A typical price range would be $500-2500.

You need to provide

We will ask you to fill out a document we call "About My Company." This provides information about your company, your products and services, and your competitors. It takes a little while to fill out, but you only do it once. It then becomes a living document that we use with everyone who works on your team to help them ramp up quickly. That helps you get better results at a lower cost.

We will also need you to work with us to define what success means and how we can measure it.

Billing

We bill in quarter hour increments. Each member of our team bills at a different rate. When we pair you with a marketing director, we'll discuss the rates and match you appropriately.

You will receive an invoice at the beginning of the month for work that was done in the previous month. Payment is due by the end of the month. If a payment is late, work will stop until we receive your check.

Other details

• Everyone who works on your marketing is a highly experienced freelancer. We are responsible for 1099s where appropriate.

• We have a short letter agreement we use with our clients, which includes an NDA. We will ask you to sign that agreement before the initial project.

• If you want anyone to sign your NDA in addition to ours we will be happy to do that.
